Clark Fork River: September 7
Clark Fork River fishing: The Clark Fork river is fishing well recently. With high water trout have plenty of living space. Fish closely along the bank, targeting the shelf and adjacent current anomolies and foam lines with a hopper patterns such as a Madame X, Stahlcup's Hopper, or similar. Yellow, Peach and Cream colored bodies work well. The best days are warm, slighlty overcast days with wind. Drop off an Olive Hare's Ears size 14,16,18. Also fish Flashback Pheasant tail in those same sizes. Targer pockets behind boulders and other obstructions. Take is often agressive. The hopper/dropper method is a sure way to take fish in these late, late summer days.
